SAN LUIS OBISPO FAMILIES - PORTRAITS 06.27.2008 PORTRAITS

last month while i was in San Luis Obispo for a wedding. I had the opportunity to photograph 5 different families. i thought i would show just a small sampling from each of the shoots.

first up the L Family. i photographed this family the day before the wedding...good times.

this is one of my favorites

can you feel the love in this family?!

the day after the weddig i ran up to photograh the M family and had a blast! such a rad family.

i love the light in this one and with a kiddo this cute, how can you take a bad picture. : )

from there i drove over to meet up with Alana and Stan. we spent some time running all over SLO "chasing light" as i like to say. than we had dinner at this rad thai restaurant...and my belly was happy!

look how easy this couple is together, makes my job simple.

the light...awhhh the light.

the day before i left (just a couple hours before my flight left actually). i went over to the Z Family home for some of my favorite shots of the weekend. what can i say, i love my job.

a huge thanks to all these families for being so amazing to work with.

AIMEE & TOM - WEDDING 06.24.2008 WEDDING

fyi. the joneses are no longer the benchmark (at least not for weddings). now eveyone is going to have to try and keep up with the Aimee & Tomses, because they really know how to celebrate a wedding. Aimee planned such an awesome day, but the best part was that i could feel the love...all day...from everyone! oh, and they had chocolate chip cookies and chocolate mile at the end of reception, how rad is that? the truth is that Aimee and Tom are two incredible people and i was honored to be a part of their day. congratulations and welcome to COLORADO!

here are a few lot of images from the day, but let me preface the photos by saying that the reason there are so many is because my old college roommate and amazing friend Jason Wells was shooting with me and he has more freakin' talent in his pinky toe than most of the world, so a few lot of these images are his.

the wedding started at the RITZ CARLTON BACHELOR GULCH for some getting ready shots.

love this shot of the guys.

than to BEAVER CREEK CHAPEL for the ceremony.

than we had this gorgeous couple for over an hour to photograph them wherever we wanted...hence the pluthera of images (i've always wanted to use the word pluthera in a blog post).

Jason got this incredible shot like a paparazzi, running through the forest, nice work buddy!

this shot below is my favorite of the day.

at one point, Tom led Aimee into the forest just off a path where (over a year ago) he had carved their initials into a tree...i can just hear everyone sighing...aaaaawwwwwe.

back at SPAGO for a sexy shot of Aimee.

before i go on, i wanted to give some props to their event planner MEG STEPANEK with GEMINI EVENT PLANNING who helped plan this incredible event. if you are looking for a GREAT PLANNER look no further! incredible is all i can say. also JAMES PICCOLA with A DESIGN RESOURCE worked his magic and made everything look beautiful.

some details

love the shoes!

these two are in love for sure!

thanks again for an incredible day!

THE SADDEST DAY OF MY LIFE 06.11.2008 PERSONAL

on saturday June 7, i received news that the most increible person and friend i have ever known, Shaun Lunt, was killed while flying his beloved plane (a piper supercub) in Alaska. there are no words that can describe the emptiness that is left inside of me, it's as if i drove to the pacific ocean only to find it has vanished, it's gone. he is gone, and my mind fights the idea. i wake up every morning expecting a phone call or a silly email even though i know it's never coming.

but i want to tell you, i need you to know who he was. i want to tell you what an amazing individual he was. that he lived his life with PASSION and COMPASSION. i want you to know that he lived his life for HIS SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, that he lived to LOVE OTHERS. i want to tell you that i LOVED HIM with the deepest part of who i am, and that i know he LOVED ME too. i want to shout it from a mountain top, to tell you that if you didn't know him you have missed out on lifes greatest treasure.

Shaun as taught me so much through the 20+ years that i have known him. through my grief and tears i understand that he is teaching me still. i have learned that those who we love most make us who we are. Shaun entered my life and infused me with all of his goodness, creativity, passion and love...and i am changed forever. in losing my best friend, Shaun has taught me three important things; GIVE OF YOURSELF, LIVE WITH PASSION, LOVE FERVENTLY.

and now i must say goodbye to my buddy. my brutha from anutha mutha, my partner in adventure, my companion, my friend. goodbye my friend, I LOVE YOU.

i finish this writing with a quote from my beloved friend:

"...a lifetime of memories and good friends. It's been a better trip than I could've hoped for. Best time spent in Alaska? Time spent with God. He is Good. And the best things in life pale in comparison."

they had the great idea of zooming around on scooters and it turned out so well.

this last shot is of the BUBBLE GUM ALLEY in SLO...how can something be so rad and so gross at the same time.
