i'm not one to play favorites typically, but i had the chance to spend more than my fair share of time with katie and simon...and well they are turning into some of my favorite people. beautiful, charming, funny as hell and i dare say smashing personalities, what's not to love. katie and simon were married on top of keystone this past august and i was able to be a part of there fun filled, love filled (like a good doughnut) wedding day. i can say with all honesty the pleasure was all mine, though i'm sure you enjoyed yourselves too! Heather Dwight of Calluna Events, another favorite was the event planner and she is so amazing to work with, definitely check her out. check out some photos.

for the past year or so my buddy KEVIN VON QUALEN has been organizing BOYS LUNCH where a bunch of colorado wedding photogrpahers (boys only) get together once a month or so for lunch or dinner or whatever. we usually just sit around and talk about "man stuff" a couple of weeks ago we all got together in the loft space above my studio to do something other than wedding photography. the challenge was to create a commercial studio look with just one light and whatever else you had in your bag. it was fun to do something different. thanks kevin for planning this every month. here is what i came up wth. in post processing i wanted to see how many different "looks" i could create with just one image.
a huge thank you to our two models Laura and Jamela for coming out and putting up with us. |

Wahhooooo!!!! I am married! * a note about comments. in an effort to see who is reading/viewing my blog i am offering a free 11x14 custom print to laura & andrew if i reach 25 comments on this post...come on now, help 'em out! the fabulous ANNA BE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE is turning 3 this year and are running an awesome promotion right now. if you are a bride looking for a bridal gown right now...check this out.
Here's how it will work.
The promotion begins November 1, 2009 and ends November 30, 2009. To enter, brides must place a deposit on a wedding dress during the promotion period. This deposit is non-refundable. The deposit must be for a new dress that is ordered and not for a sample dress. There is a maximum of one (1) entry per person.
The winner will be chosen in a random drawing which will be held on the morning of December 1, 2009. The winner will be notified via telephone and email. The winner has 30 days to claim the prize or it will be forfeited to a runner up. The prize is not transferable and must be used by the winner.
The prize is a $3,000 credit to be applied towards a wedding dress. This credit will be applied to the price of the dress before taxes. The winner is responsible for all sales taxes on the dress. The maximum value of the prize is $3,000. If the gown purchased during the promotion period is less than $3,000, the winner will not receive the difference. The prize can only be applied to one gown and can not be used towards any other purchases including but not limited to bridesmaid dresses, accessories, and veils. |
